B.Sc. in Culinary Science

Culinary means the arts and science of cuisine which includes the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, usually in the form of meals. In the present day scenario, expert Chefs explore food from all over the globe and make them presentable and palatable for their guests by applying their knowledge and skills of food science and nutrition.

A cuisine is a style of cooking characterized by distinctive ingredients, techniques and dishes, and usually associated with a specific culture or geographic region. Regional food preparation traditions, customs and ingredients often combine to create dishes unique to a particular region.

The food industry offers an incredibly bright future and has been the most consistent industry in terms of growth, employment generation and individual career advancement. Presently the Hospitality and food industry support almost 20% of the world’s existing jobs and the demand for qualified, trained and skilled personnel has always been on the increase. Careers in this industry are highly stable,rewarding and highly enterprising.Education imparted should and will strategically meet the international employment requirements as the core of curriculum is essentially global and highly industry oriented.

The Culinary program in this Institute will provide hands on practical skill development sessions under the guidance of highly experienced Chef Instructors.School of Hospitality Management and Culinary Science is dedicated to provide best possible training to its students with the aim of converting them into proficient chefs to serve the industry.

B.Sc. in Culinary science is a three year Bachelor degree program under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. Students are expected to have their aptitude towards culinary as this will help them build their career more efficiently.
